ROMAN BLIND SIDE RETURNS

For Roman Blinds fitted outside the window recess, side returns are a very neat and worthwhile addition to hide the end of the headrail.

To make an integrated side return as in the photo above the fabric must be wide enough in relation to the width of the finished blind so there is enough fabric for the return. If not, the return can be made with a join, not quite as neat but still a very acceptable way of hiding the end of the headrail, and if done well the join is not really noticeable.

Side returns do add a little to the cost because of the extra work involved, but not as much as you might think and they are well worth that little bit extra.

For blinds fitted inside the recess they are not needed because the ends of the headrail are not visible.

The fabric above is Jane Churchill Capel Aqua.
